In a bid to transform the economy and address the issue of insecurity in Edo State, Dr. Dennis Osahon Aikoriogie, the gubernatorial candidate of the National Rescue Movement (NRM), has unveiled his comprehensive plans for the state.
Dr. Aikoriogie’s vision for the future of Edo State focuses on building a dynamic, diversified, and inclusive economy that creates opportunities for all and can withstand the challenges of the modern world. He aims to harness the power of innovation and technology, diversify the economic base, promote sustainable development, attract investment and partnerships, and invest in critical infrastructure.
One of the key areas of focus for Dr. Aikoriogie’s administration will be tackling the issue of insecurity, particularly the high crime rate and kidnapping along the Auchi axis by Fulani herdsmen. Recognizing that the leadership of the Police is controlled by the Inspector General of Police appointed by the federal government, the administration plans to provide the police with adequate equipment, gadgets, operational vehicles, good housing, and hook the state up to CCTV for real-time monitoring, ensuring proactive and reactive policing.
On the economic front, Dr. Aikoriogie plans to drive the economy through innovation and technology, support sectors with high growth potential such as agriculture, tourism, and creative industries, promote sustainable development practices, seek investment and partnership opportunities, and invest in critical infrastructure like transportation, energy, and digital connectivity.
With these plans in place, Dr. Dennis Osahon Aikoriogie is poised to lead Edo State towards a brighter and more prosperous future, creating new opportunities for job creation, income generation, and wealth distribution for all citizens.
